While there are many reasons to use WordPress for your website, these are my Top 7 reasons to use WordPress for your website design.

It’s Free

Who doesn’t like free? The WordPress software is FREE to download, install, and use. There are other costs involved with having a website such, as purchasing a domain name and buying monthly hosting services. WordPress itself is free.

Widely used

WordPress is the most widely used Content Management System (CMS) or website builder. About 37% of all websites online are, created using WordPress. Some big-name companies use WordPress for their websites such, as Disney, Microsoft, and Facebook. Knowing such big corporations use WordPress should give you peace of mind when using WP for your website.

Search Engine friendly

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the key to getting more traffic to your site. More traffic equates to more sets of eyes and more potential clients. WordPress has SEO built in its software. When you create a new page or a blog post on your WordPress site, metadata and title tags are generated automatically.

Metadata allows search engines such as Google to know what content is on your site. When a user searches the web search engine crawls the web to display the best results based on website content and returns those results.

You can add additional plugins to help with your SEO, such as Yoast or Rank Math. My next blog post will be a more in-depth look at SEO.

Easy to customize

WordPress is easy to customize using one of the million themes and plugins available. Having this array of options makes it easy to scale your site as your needs grow. These themes have documentation that explains what options you can customize for your brand.

It’s mobile-friendly

Google is by far the biggest search engine, and with that comes a lot of power. Google determines what order it shows website listing. Google is now using mobile-first indexing. Meaning Google predominantly uses the mobile version of the content for indexing and ranking. Having a site that gives a user a better mobile experience will result in higher rankings on Google search.

Handles most media types

Whether you are an emerging video star or you are setting up a new podcast, WordPress has you covered. WordPress has a built-in media player that can handle your images, video, and audio files. It also allows you to embed things like your Instagram feed, Tweets, and even Soundcloud audio.

Has a large community

We already touched base with how easy WordPress is to customize but now let’s talk about the community. There are a lot of WordPress users out there who are willing to help. You can do a simple Google search and receive millions of results on WordPress help. Because WordPress has a big community, it is easy to find help articles and videos for your questions.

These are just my top 7 reasons for using WordPress for my website. My site is a WordPress site, and I recommend WordPress for all my clients. I understand not everyone has the time or desire to learn WordPress, and that is okay. If you need help with a new website or website refresh, I can help.
